A Hairbrush

Luke 12:7
As I was brushing my hair today which has become quite full and wild it made me laugh about the fact that God knows the number of hairs on my head. That's something I'm glad I'll never have to count. For those of you that are follicley (is that a word?) challenged, my apologies, at least God won't have to spend any time keeping track of yours. Luke 12:7 comes in a section exclaiming both of the power of God and how much he cares for the creatures of the earth. Jesus was speaking to a crowd saying, "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows (Luke 12:6-7 NIV). Christ wanted us to understand that God cares immensely for us and even knows us better than we know ourselves! God is not some distant God, out there somewhere, but instead he is right here and involved in our everyday lives right down to the details. Have some inferiority problems? Well have no doubt that God considers you valuable no matter what you or anyone else thinks. Remember that you are God's prized posession, so much so that Jesus even died for you! God's desire is for an intimate relationship with you. Spend time today pondering God's extravagent love for you and whether you're hairy like me or not take some time to appreciate God's desire to be involved in even the smallest things in your life.
